You’re all in this together.
BCIT’s cohort model means small class sizes and collaboration brings students together to work side by side with each other and with experts from industry. You will forge strong connections with your classmates and instructors throughout your time at BCIT.
Your learning experience at BCIT may be intense, but you will graduate with industry ready skills and experiences that will prepare you to face the next step in your career.
Your education will go beyond the classroom and will involve the people, environments, and tools that you will encounter in the real world.
Project-based learning, applied research and internships allow you to gain a competitive edge – you will know your workplace and what to expect even before you graduate.
Over a two-year period, students train on a rotational basis with five-eight weeks terms in the classroom and nine weeks of hands-on, paid work experience in a GM dealership. Classroom instructors are trained by General Motors, and are in tune with the latest trends in technology. New vehicles, training components and aids are provided by GM for students to work on and learn from in a closely supervised and structured environment.
The classroom program will include courses in electrical systems, air conditioning systems, fuel systems, driveline, engine mechanical, power train, steering and suspension, brakes, electrical options and accessories, computer operated/assisted systems, truck components and systems and body and trim.
