Education has the power to inspire growth and change lives. In nearly 50 years, 500,000 GCC students have graduated with two-year degrees, transferred to a university, completed new career training, or finished an occupational certificate.
From enrollment through graduation, GCC advisors, tutors and counselors guide your academic experience. On campus or online, small classes are taught by world-class faculty who know you by name. Outside of the classroom, you will find a welcoming community of student clubs, athletics, arts and culture.
GM ASEP teaches students exclusively on current GM vehicles, and combines a paid dealership internship with four semesters of classroom and lab instruction. Graduates work in GM dealership repair centers as entry-level technicians.
The first step is to meet with a GCC Automotive Technology Advisor to find out how to become sponsored, which is required to be accepted in this program. During your first 8 weeks of the semester you will take intensive, hands-on classes. During the latter half of the semester, you will work alongside experienced dealership technicians who serve as mentors.
ASEP instructors are factory trained and certified by GM to meet both ASEP and ASE/NATEF requirements. This ensures that our curriculum meets or exceeds industry standards. Instructors are required to update their skills annually and meet challenging and constantly evolving standards.
GM provides new vehicles, training components, training aids and factory special tools for students to work with and learn from in a closely supervised and structured environment.
